Overview

Empires currently has a small amount of music, and we are looking to expand on this. Being a freely available mod, there is no budget to pay for a 'professional', so please refrain from posting offers that require such funds. Also note that songs will not be used without express permission from the authors, and authors will receive full credit for their pieces, if used.

What is music needed for?

Empires is divided into various segments:

main menu (probably won't change)
credits
pre-game & voting period
first few minutes ("breakout" period)
after the first few minutes (currently no music at all)
countdown to commander sudden death (300 seconds)
commander sudden-death mode
NF/Brenodi win (almost national anthem type?)

Potentially, there could be a full in-game soundtrack if enough songs are created. This would be completely optional for the people that don't like music while they play.

Hold a music contest for the community if we can get enough interested participants.
Ask other mods that already have music if their artists want to contribute to Empires as well.
