RTS is an acronym for Real-Time Strategy. This term is used to describe any game with a strategic element which progresses at a constant rate, where players act simultaneously. The opposite of this would be Turn-Based Strategy, which relies on taking it in turns to move (e.g. Chess).
Popular RTS games include:
- Command and Conquer
- Total Anhillation
- Age of Empires
- Outpost 2
